Arsenal linked with Szoboszlai

Recent weeks have seen Arsenal linked quite heavily with Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian is currently plying his trade in Austria with RB Salzburg, whom he joined on a free transfer in January of 2018.

The 20-year-old has since gone on to notch 74 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored 22 and assisted 33.

Szoboszlai has also impressed for his national side of late, netting a crucial late winner to book Hungary’s spot at the European Championships last week.

Still unfamiliar with Szoboszlai? 101 has detailed the Hungarian’s talents as part of our player profile project – find out everything you need to know below:

Szoboszlai’s agent discusses client’s future

Following his latest strike for Hungary, Arsenal’s fans took to social media in their droves to urge their side to move for Szoboszlai.

Now, with speculation continuing to mount, Szoboszlai’s agent has spoken out over his client’s future.

And the comments, be it from an Arsenal perspective, or that of any other side interested in the gifted young midfielder/winger, proved altogether encouraging.

Esterhazy Matyas first outlined the importance of Szoboszlai joining a club where he will continue to play on a regular basis, before admitting that the Salzburg star is now ‘closer’ to departing the Austrian top-flight:

“We’re seeing that every time he has a good game, which fortunately is happening quite often, the rumours are getting stronger.

“However, our strategy isn’t going to change because of one or two games,

“We have belief in our own plans and the vision we had originally is only getting stronger because all of the comments we are reading only prove that we are on the right path.

“Whether it’s in January or next summer, the most important thing is that he goes to a club where he will have a good chance of playing regularly and continuing the learning curve he started in Salzburg – that’s the most important thing for us.

“Obviously, it’s no secret that Dominik is closer now to leaving the Austrian league.”
