Swansea City had identified that up top was an area in which they needed to improve this summer.
The South Wales club have so far signed Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea and also have a deal in place to re-sign Wilfried Bony.
Head coach Paul Clement is said to be keen on a move for Alvaro Negredo, who has scored 18 Premier League goals during stints at both Manchester City and Middlesbrough.
The Swans hoping to add big name
Negredo is worth a reported £6.5m and it is believed that Valencia are now ready to listen to offers for the Spaniard, who is surplus to requirements.
The Wales Online’s report states that Swansea would only add a big name should Fernando Llorente depart the Liberty Stadium this summer.
Llorente has recently been linked with a move to Chelsea who are looking for a deputy to new signing Alvaro Morata
