Does Dom Solanke have a Liverpool future?
Dominic Solanke arrived at Liverpool to much fanfare in the summer.
Long considered one of the jewels in Chelsea’s famed youth system, Solanke signed for Liverpool for what looks like being a low fee. Which is still to be decided by tribunal.
The hype machine was in overdrive thanks to Dominic Solanke’s performances for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup with England and the Liverpool striker received the Golden Ball award for best player in the summer tournament.
The move to Liverpool was supposed to secure Solanke with more first team opportunities. These simply have not arrived.
Solanke more likely to get a game for England than Liverpool!
Liverpool are blessed with a brilliant attack and Daniel Sturridge can barely get a game.
The 20-year-old has played just 64 minutes for Liverpool in the Premier League season.
Incredibly, Solanke has almost played as many minutes for the England national team (16) as his club side in the English top flight.
Swansea shock favourites to sign Solanke
Swansea City could be about to add some serious firepower up-front by bringing in Dominic Solanke, according to Ladbrokes.
The Welsh outfit currently find themselves in the relegation zone of the Premier League but the bookies make Paul Clement’s men the surprise 7/4 favourites to sign the England and Liverpool ace.
Celtic 2/1 to make a move for Solanke
Elsewhere, Celtic’s chances of landing the youngster are currently rated at 2/1, while Solanke could be set for a move to the Midlands, with Aston Villa (3/1), West Brom (4/1) and Wolves (5/1) all reportedly keen.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Solanke is struggling to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans and with increased speculation surrounding his future, Tammy Abraham may well be set for a reunion with his old Chelsea pal at the Liberty.”
