Tottenham’s youth policy has correctly been hailed in recent years with a string on players either signed or recruited that have made it into the first team at White Hart Lane.

Yet, some talented youngsters also fail to make the grade under Mauricio Pochettino, as we have seen in this transfer window with Andros Townsend’s move to Newcastle for 12 million pounds.

The latest departure from Spurs, of a player that could well become a top class star in the coming years, is Serbian Milos Veljkovic.

Following reports on Saturday in Serbia, Jack Pitt-Brooke of The Independent has confirmed that Veljkovic is heading to Werder Bremen for a fee of 500,000 pounds plus add-ons.

Veljkovic was part of the Serbian Under-20 side that won the World Cup in the summer and has been publicly praised on a number of occasions by Tottenham Under-21 coach Ugo Ehiogu.

However, Veljkovic has not figured in the plans of Mauricio Pochettino, despite the fact Spurs are not overwhelmed with options in the defensive midfield position, where he can also play.
