Chelsea & Real Madrid
With a little over a month until the transfer window reopens in January, a significant story has broken from France’s RMC Sport.
There are claiming that Real Madrid are trying to sign a Chelsea star in January.
The good news for Chelsea is that Eden Hazard is not the centre of the report.
David Luiz to leave Blues again?
Is David Luiz set for his second exit from Chelsea?
The Brazilian has left and returned from PSG in recent seasons. But RMC Sport now believe Luiz may be Real Madrid bound.
In a confident statement, it’s claimed Luiz has started talks with Los Blancos over a move.
Would Luiz start at the Santiago Bernabeu? That’s doubtful as Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane seem the shoo-in partnership for Zinedine Zidane at the heart of his defence.
But considering Varane’s injury history, Luiz could be a back up option.
The other side of the story is Luiz’s current standing at Chelsea. After the recent Manchester United game, there were reports that Luiz has fallen out with manager Antonio Conte leading to the Brazilian to be dropped.
Luiz, who is out of the Swansea match, is presently hampered by a knee problem.
It’s worth adding that there is little ‘meat on the bone’ of RMC Sport’s update.
Readers aren’t told how much Real Madrid would pay for Luiz. Nor is it clear whether Chelsea are truly prepared to sell.
Should Luiz join Los Blancos, however, he’d be unable to play for them in this season’s Champions League.
About David Luiz to Madrid this winter. Possible, when you look at his situation today with Conte + WC18 next summer. Bankable player for Real Madrid (merchandising). But, he will not have a major role in Spain. Thougths ? Communication from Luiz entourage. #CFC
