Chelsea & Thibaut Courtois
Thibaut Courtois made his intentions clear on Monday.
The Belgian goalie failed to show up for training at Chelsea, in a clear sign that Courtois wants to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Time is obviously running down for Courtois to make his move. The transfer window shuts at 5pm on Thursday.
Rumours have been rife all summer that Courtois is keen on joining Real Madrid.
As that deal simmers in the background, who could Chelsea sign if Courtois does indeed leave the Blues in the next 48 hours?
Everton & Jordan Pickford
One player linked to Chelsea has been England and Everton goalie Jordan Pickford.
The Times have moved to shut down any thought of Pickford leaving the Toffees, as readers are told the following:
Having sounded out Everton about the possibility of signing Jordan Pickford… it has been made clear (Pickford) is not for sale.
Sergio Rico vs Jack Butland
The Times go on to name two other possible Chelsea targets.
The first is Stoke City’s Jack Butland. The second is Sevilla stopper Sergio Rico.
Butland, of course, has stayed with the Potters following Stoke’s relegation from the Premier League last term.
Butland missed out on the number one spot in the England World Cup squad, and the keeper looked a little rusty last weekend in the Championship.

Stoke lost 3-1 at Leeds United on Sunday, and Butland looked ropey at Elland Road.
According to the Times, Stoke would also demand top money for their number one:
With English players carrying a premium due to the home-grown rule, Chelsea have yet to meet Stoke’s valuation for Butland of £30 million up front plus add-ons, meaning that the England goalkeeper could end up costing them more than the £35 million they would receive for Courtois.
That’s left Chelsea considering an approach for Sevilla’s Sergio Rico, according to The Times.
Sergio Rico is a 24-year-old keeper who is under contract with Sevilla until 2021.
The Times place a £15 million price tag around Rico’s neck.
