Rumours that Ajax’s Frank de Boer is ready to replace Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool are false

Rumours are swirling around on Tuesday morning that Frank de Boer has made himself open to walking out on Ajax in order to take over the Liverpool hotseat should Brendan Rodgers walk the plank.

The rumour was tabled by the incredibly unreliable Daily Express, before being regurgitated on the BBC’s well-read football gossip page on their website.

The basis of the story has been provided by quotes from Frank’s brother, Ronald, who told Fox Sports on a question of whether his sibling would move to Anfield:

Not yet, especially in the winter, but at the end of the season he surely could.

It’s a nice club. If Liverpool come now, he would certainly think about it. He would certainly not close the door immediately, like he did two years ago.

Thus, despite Ronald confirming that Frank is staying put at Ajax right now, Liverpool fans are now being fed the belief that Rodgers could be axed ASAP for the Dutchman. That simply won’t happen.

A couple more insights on the likelihood of Frank de Boer jacking in his Ajax job to move to Liverpool any time soon are below.
