Roma’s new director of football Monchi is reportedly shocked with by the recent conduct of Barcelona.
Sport are reporting that Monchi was left red-faced in his attempts to negotiate with the Catalans over one of their young forwards.
Roma are in the market for a striker and hoped to bring in 21-year-old Munir El Haddadi following his loan spell at Valencia last season.
Munir, who has 1 Spanish cap to his name, scored 6 goals in 32 La Liga appearances last season.
Monchi was surprised by Barcelona’s reluctance to discuss a deal, given that Barca defender Thomas Vermaelen spent last season on loan at the Serie A side.
According to Sport, a loan deal was non-negotiable, with Barcelona are asking for a minimum of 25 million euros for Munir.
The article goes on to say that Roma have officially withdrawn interest and are looking at other forward targets.
