Isco headed for Madrid exit?
Isco is one of those players who seems to be perpetually linked with a move away from his club.
He was reportedly very close to leaving for Man City in the January 2016 window, and then again considered leaving in the next two windows.
But despite his limited game time, he’s been convinced by manager Zinedine Zidane to stay put – for now.
However, there’s only so long a player of his quality will accept sitting on the bench, especially when he knows he’d be a guaranteed starter at several rival clubs….like Barcelona.
The Catalans are currently navigating a midfield crisis, and Isco would fit right in.
Jordi Alba went public in admitting Isco would be more than welcome at Camp Nou….but it can’t happen.
Anti-Barca clause in contract
Because just like every player who signs for Real Madrid, Isco had an anti-Barcelona clause inserted into his contract by wily club president Florentino Perez, as reported by Mundo Deportivo this evening.
It’s well known that Isco grew up a Barcelona fan – his dog is even named Messi – and he would possibly be open to the idea of moving.
But any potential move to the Camp Nou would have to be made when he’s out of contract – in June 2018.
