The biggest saga of the summer transfer window is already shaping up.
Jude Bellingham is expected to be the player that many of Europe’s top clubs will be chasing.
The 19-year-old has burst onto the scene at Borussia Dortmund and is already one of the continent’s best midfielders.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been linked with him, however, Real Madrid are the club that appear to be pushing the hardest.
Real Madrid start work on Bellingham deal
According to Marca, Real Madrid are convinced that Bellingham is the player that they need and have started work on a deal.
Over recent months, Los Blancos have been trying to convince the midfielder to join and their insistence seems to have worked.
But this is why Madrid have started work so early, knowing that the competition for his signature will be so fierce.
He is now their number one target for the midfield, which is an area they will need to strengthen with Kroos, Modric and Ceballos all coming towards the end of their contracts.
Next summer, he is expected to be made available for transfer for around €100 million.
Borussia Dortmund knows that Bellingham is in high demand and they are ready to sit and negotiate a deal.
