Revealed: The reason Roberto Firmino is leaving Liverpool

An explanation for Roberto Firmino leaving Liverpool has been provided on Saturday.

German journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed on Fridat that Firmino has informed Jurgen Klopp that he will leave Liverpool in the summer. The pair had a chat on Friday and the decision has been made.

The Brazilian will be a free agent in the summer and is sure to have plenty of interested clubs.

Firmino has been in and out of the team over the last two seasons with new forwards arriving at the club.

The 31-year-old has started in just 15 of the Reds’ 36 matches this season.

And now, an insight into why Firmino is leaving the club has been provided.

According to 90min, it was made clear during negotiations with Firmino that he again wouldn’t get as much game time as he expected.

Though Firmino could still, theoretically, have signed a new deal, a player with as much talent as he has was never going to accept playing third or fourth fiddle.

In the end, it would seem to have been an easy decision to make.
