The Blues are in desperate need of some fresh legs at centre-back, now that Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have departed for Spain.
And a whole host of names have, in turn, been tipped for a Stamford Bridge switch, including Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Matthijs de and former Chelsea star, Nathan Ake.
So far though, the west Londoners have signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli. De Ligt and Ake, though, will not be heading to the English capital this summer as the former has now signed for Bayern Munich and a deal for Ake collapsed.
Presnel Kimpembe of PSG was also of interest to Chelsea, but he has opted to remain at the Parc des Princes this season.
Such issues in the market led Chelsea to turn their attention towards Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana.
The young defender had a promising 2020/21 with the Foxes, but then saw his 2021/22 derailed by injury last summer.
However, journalist Dean Jones has recently been speaking about Fofana’s potential move to Chelsea. And when doing so, he pointed out a ‘massive issue’.
Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s definitely one that they are looking at. Conversations have taken place this week about whether the transfer is possible or not.
“I think a massive issue here is going to be Leicester’s valuation of him, but they are definitely in conversations about it.”
