Revealed: Chelsea’s Marc Guehi transfer clause that could bring defender back to Stamford Bridge

Marc Guehi is one of a long list of quality talents to come through Chelsea’s academy before then departing the club.

After a spell on loan with Swansea, Guehi would join Crystal Palace on a permanent basis last summer.

The centre-back has since been a key figure for a new-look Eagles side who are climbing the Premier league table and into the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

How Chelsea can resign Marc Guehi

Given how impressive Guehi, now an England international, has looked this season, Chelsea fans may be somewhat annoyed their club let such an obvious talent leave.

Now though, it has been revealed how Chelsea could resign Guehi in the near future.

As explained by journalist Tom Barclay, if Palace accept a bid from another club for the 21-year-old next summer, Chelsea have the right ot match that bid and have it accepted:

"I don’t think they do have a buyback clause. My understanding is they have a clause, which kicks in next summer, where if another club makes a bid and it gets accepted then they have the right to match that bid and have it accepted.

“His story at Chelsea might not definitely be over, but it’s not as simple as Tino Livramento, for example, where if they just offer close to £38million, they can get him back.”
