19-year-old Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic is attracting a lot of attention.
The Serbian U21 international agreed a new three-year contract at Red Star Belgrade over the summer after Hamburg tried to sign him for around £1.2 million.
Grujic has continued to impress in 2015-16 though, and now a new round of bids could be coming from some of the biggest teams in Europe.
Inter Milan appear to be leading the pack, as Grujic revealed during the international break, but Chelsea are also very much in the running.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Grujic has told the press:
After Tuesday’s match against Slovenia, I’ll talk to Stankovic. He called me three weeks ago. He told me to continue this way since Inter is following me. At the end of the season I’ll go to Milano to talk to Inter. It’s a possible destination.
Now I’m at Red Star, we’re first in the league and I want to win the title. Then I could come to Italy. I don’t think I’ll move in January, there are certainly more possibilities in June.
Nemanja Matic is a friend, he’s Serbia and he’s been at Chelsea for more than a year. He told me they want me.
Grujic has scored four goals in 16 league matches this season for Red Star.
