Bale and Zidane

Real Madrid’s asking price for Gareth Bale unlikely to put off Spurs or Man United

Are Real Madrid preparing to sell Gareth Bale?

Gareth Bale last played for Real Madrid at Borussia Dortmund in late September.

Unsurprisingly, Bale scored one of the goals, a fine strike, in a 3-1 win.

When Gareth Bale plays for Real Madrid, it is not hard to see why Los Blancos paid huge money for the “Welsh Express”.

However, injury problems are beginning to seriously curtal the Welsh attacker.

Bale has been sidelined with calf problems that affected him in the latter part of 2016/2017. The Real Madrid Galactico missed the Champions League games against Spurs and crucial Wales World Cup qualifier versus Republic of Ireland.

A new setback for Gareth Bale

This week, with suggestions that Bale would be available for Real Madrid’s derby match against Atletico Madrid on Saturday, he picked up a new injury.

Bale is now expected to be out until the end of the calendar year with a groin injury.

If John Richardson in the Sunday Mirror is to be believed, Bale is now being put up for sale by Real Madrid.

The Spanish and European champions have lost patience with Bale.

According to Richardson: “Real Madrid place £85million asking price on Gareth Bale as Spanish giants prepare to cash in on injury-prone star.”

Spurs, Chelsea or Manchester United?

With Bale not playing in next summer’s World Cup, there could well be a lot of speculation about his future.

Tottenham would clearly love to sign Bale again, although Mauricio Pochettino rarely signs older players.

Spurs do have a new stadium to prepare for, which might entice Bale but make paying a large fee harder for the north London side.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with Bale ever since he left for Madrid. Chelsea are also linked by the Mirror and are one of the few sides in world football that could match his current wages.

Expect plenty of Gareth Bale speculation in the coming weeks and months.
