According to Spanish outlet Marca, Spanish giants Real Madrid have taken the drastic measure of suspending all player moves, both in and out of the club, until the future of unsettled star Cristiano Ronaldo has been sorted.
Since news originally broke of Ronaldo demanding a move away from the Spanish capital (mainly due to his treatment regarding an alleged tax fraud case), the rumour mills have been rife with stories suggesting just what the next move of the Portuguese phenomenon could be.
Both Manchester United and PSG have been touted as potential destinations, with a world-record transfer bid rumoured to be in the offing.
However, Ronaldo himself has yet to speak publicly on the subject, while he is also yet to speak to Real Madrid regarding whether or not the stories surrounding his name are to be believed or not.
A source close to Los Blancos recently revealed to the DPA:
‘We do not know from his own mouth what is true intentions are.’
‘We are counting on him, but we have to know what it is he wants.’
‘Ronaldo’s future will determine the sporting plans of the club for next season and this is something that we need to solve as soon as possible.’
As a result, the Champions League holders have reportedly decided to freeze all transfer negotiations that the club are currently involved in, as they await news on the future of the greatest goalscorer in Blancos history.
