Arsenal linked with Szoboszlai

Recent weeks have seen Arsenal linked quite heavily with Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian is currently plying his trade in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg, whom he joined on a free transfer in January of 2018.

The 20-year-old has since gone on to notch 74 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored 22 and assisted 33.

Szoboszlai has also impressed for his national side of late, netting a crucial late winner to book Hungary’s spot at the European Championships last week.

Szoboszlai could leave Salzburg in January

Now, on Tuesday, the Arsenal faithful have received a potential boost when it comes to their side’s reported pursuit of Szoboszlai.

First, Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund opened the door to the midfielder moving to a ‘big club’ in the winter:

“Of course you would like to have the player in the club as long as possible, on the other hand it is also healthy if he takes the next step at the right time

“Let’s see what happens in winter, but there is a high probability that he will move to a big club.”

However, unsurprisingly, it is now also being claimed that a number of other clubs are keen on Szoboszlai.

Sky Sports Austria credit all of Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Tottenham and RB Leipzig with an interest in the 20-year-old.

German outlet Bild, as cited by Sport Witness, meanwhile, report that Szoboszlai is very much ‘on the list’ of Spurs.
