Armenian international captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan was nowhere to be seen as Man United won 2-1 at the Hawthorns.
It’s been a rough few weeks for Mkhitaryan after he started the season with five assists in three games.
Mkhitaryan’s last involvement for Man United was on November 25.
The Armenian came off the bench in a 1-0 win over Brighton at Old Trafford.
The last time Mkhitaryan started a game for Man United in the Premier League was on November 5, in the 1-0 defeat at Chelsea.
Mino Raiola & Inter Milan
On Monday, Italian daily Corriere dello Sport announce that Henrikh Mkhitaryan has ‘given the green light’ to Man United to work out a deal with Inter Milan.
The deal is reportedly being set up by Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola.
CdS report that Inter are “working hard” to get the deal done in January. But do they have the finds to complete the transaction?
The story is fleshed out by Football Italia, who report on Inter’s finances:
The Nerazzurri are expected to be busy in January, but Il Corriere notes they will not “go crazy” as they must “self-finance” themselves in the market.
They could sell Joao Mario to Paris Saint-Germain, the midfielder keen to play more ahead of the World Cup, and swap him for Javier Pastore.
There have also been reports linking Mkhitaryan with a possible return to Borussia Dortmund.
For the record, Mkhitaryan is under contract at Old Trafford until 2020.
