Aubameyang & Chelsea
Bad news for Chelsea fans.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not be leaving Borussia Dortmund to move to the Premier League champions.
That’s according to German news outlet Kicker on Tuesday, who report that BVB have decided that Aubameyang will not leave the club this summer.
Earlier in the off-season, Aubameyang was thought to be on his way to PSG, but then the French club pulled out of the deal.
Since, the Gabonese international star has been linked to a raft of Premier League sides including Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool, but what’s been apparent is that no offers have been forthcoming.
Clock runs out
Last week Hans-Joachim Watzke announced that Dortmund were placing a deadline on bid for Aubameyang, and Kicker now announce that deadline has passed.
Hammering home the point, Kicker tell their readers “it is clear that Borussia will start the season with last year’s top goalscorer”.
Aubameyang scored 31 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches last campaign.
However, just before the article ended, Kicker dropped a significant caveat. They claim that the only way Aubameyang now leaves BVB is if a team tables an offer of 100 million euros.
For the big boys of the Premier League, that’s feasible.
