Paul Merson on Swansea
Swansea picked up a point on Saturday at home to Crystal Palace.
But, days after sacking Paul Clement from the Liberty Stadium, Swansea remain bottom of the Premier League.
It’s still unclear who will take over the hot seat in Wales.
While Leo Britton is the current caretaker player-manager, he’s made it clear he has not intentions of taking the job on a full-time basis.
Paul Merson has offered his thoughts on the Swansea situation, and he’s ruled out Tony Pulis taking the position.
In a classic Mersonism, the pundit claimed “they haven’t got closer-downs in midfield who are going to dog around and bite at people”.
Frank De Boer & Swansea
Merson went on to advocate why Dutch manager Frank De Boer could be interesting for Swansea.
De Boer, of course, was sacked by Crystal Palace at the start of the season. He lost his job after five straight defeats with the Eagles.
He’s also previously failed with Inter Milan. Although he did win multiple league titles with Ajax.

Roberto Martinez’s return?
On Saturday night Wales Online posted a big story claiming Swansea are courting Roberto Martinez for a shock Liberty Stadium return.
Martinez is the current Belgium national team boss.
Belgium qualified for the 2018 World Cup where they’ll face Panama, Tunisia and England in the groups.
What seems clear is that Martinez will not walk out on Belgium for Swansea before the World Cup.
It was suggested that Martinez may be open to agreeing to becoming Swansea’s manager after Russia, which would mean the Swans would need to find a water-carrier until then.
It’s unclear who would take over the Swansea post until the end of the season.
And would Martinez be interested in Swansea if they are in the Championship next season?
