Patrick Kluivert & Oxford United
The Sun have reported an ‘exclusive’ on Tuesday claiming that Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert could become the new Oxford United manager.
Kluivert, 41, enjoyed an incredible playing career with the likes of Ajax, AC Milan and Barcelona. He also spent time in England with Newcastle United.
But Kluivert’s managerial career is, so far, less glamorous. He’s been an assistant at AZ, NEC and the Dutch national team. He also had a brief spell at as the manager for Curacao.
Most recently Kluivert was working as the sporting director for PSG, however he left that position in 2017.
Could the Dutch legend now be set for Oxford United?
‘Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth wants deal this week’
Just a few weeks ago Oxford United had a takeover.
Thai businessman Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth became the new owner of the League One club
The U’s have been without a manager since January when Pep Clotet was sacked, while some high profile names including Craig Bellamy and Alan Stubbs have been interviewed about the post.
But the Sun now report that Patrick Kluivert is the top pick:
Oxford are in talks with Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert about becoming their new boss.
New financial backer Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth wants Kluivert, 41, to join the League One outfit and hopes to tie up a deal this week.
Oxford are 16th in League One, while they are still in danger of going down being just five points from safety.
Is Kluivert really the man who is going to get Oxford promoted? What knowledge does he have of the club or League One?
And how much would Kluivert demand for being the U’s manager?

First Oxford are linked with Craig Bellamy, now Patrick Kluivert. The way things are going we are probably more likely to end up with Albert Luque.

As we know; David Unsworth, Craig Bellamy and Alan Stubbs have all held talks to become Oxford United FC manager, but new owner Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth's No.1 target is Patrick Kluivert.
