Paris Saint-Germain in line to provide Ligue 1 escape route for Tottenham midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain in line to provide Ligue 1 escape route for Tottenham midfielder

Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain could be the answer for Tottenham when it comes to the question that is Tanguy Ndombele as the Parisian outfit have opened the lines of communication regarding a January move for the French international.

As reported in The Athletic, and also discussed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, direct talks between the two clubs have begun regarding a loan move this month, with PSG said to be open to the idea of an option to buy in the summer.

Most importantly, Ndombele is said to be keen on the potential move as he looks to re-establish himself in midfield at a new port of call after a frustrating period at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The former En Avant Guingamp academy product was also linked with a potential move to AS Roma to reunite with former boss José Mourinho, who thought highly of the Frenchman during his spell at the helm of the north London outfit. From his end, any and all escape routes from Tottenham will likely seem viable options.

Tottenham to replace Ndombele with Kessie?

Tottenham are still rejoicing after their shock comeback win against Leicester City last night on the back of a Steven Bergwijn brace in stoppage time, but remain on the hunt for improvement in the first-team under Antonio Conte.

The Spurs manager is desperate for reinforcements and could even replace the potentially outgoing Tanguy Ndombele with an early move for AC Milan midfield dynamo Franck Kessie.

Kessie, currently on AFCON assignment with Ivory Coast (who just dispatched Algeria 3-1 at the time of writing), is out of contract at the San Siro in the summer and will likely command a huge amount of attention in the market. For that reason, Spurs could be set to make a move six months before the rest of the field.

The potential departure of Ndombele would leave Tottenham frustratingly light in the center of the park and down to just Oliver Skipp, Harry Winks, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, and Giovani Lo Celso. An addition of the level of Kessie would go a long way in offering Conte the type of player he deems required to help Spurs sustain their push for top-four this season, as they sit just one point adrift of West Ham in fourth with three matches in hand on the Hammers.
