Official: Leeds sign Man United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

Man United & Leeds

There’s little love between the fans of Man United and Leeds United, however the clubs have closed a piece of business on Monday.

20-year-old defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has looked to be heading out of Old Trafford ever since he was omitted from Man United’s US pre-season tour, and the youngster has now put pen to paper on a deal with the Whites.

While CBJ was blooded by Louis van Gaal a few seasons ago, Jose Mourinho sidelined the youngster last season.

Leeds, meanwhile, are in need of a new left-back after Charlie Taylor completed a move to Burnley last week.

What’s the story?

Borthwick-Jackson has now completed a season-long loan move to Championship side Leeds.

Last season CBJ was on loan with Wolves in the English second tier.

Leeds have announced the signing on their club’s website, informing fans:

Borthwick-Jackson has also represented England at various youth levels, winning caps for the Under 17s, Under 19s and Under 20s.

He becomes the clubs eleventh signing of the summer transfer window and will wear the number three shirt during his time with the Whites.

Staying with Red Devils, Monday could be a day of players leaving Old Trafford as Timothy Fosu-Mensah is having a medical at Crystal Palace today ahead of a season-long loan move from Man United.

As for Leeds, they started the 2017-18 Championship campaign with a win, beating Bolton 3-2 away on Sunday.
