Newcastle to offer lucrative terms to Lingard
Cash-backed Newcastle United press on in their attempts to source transfer solutions this January as the Magpies seek out necessary first-team reinforcements and are said to be prepared to make a massive offer for Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard.
The report comes from 90min’s Graeme Bailey earlier today and suggests that United is more than willing to accept the terms of the proposal from Newcastle. But the question, as ever, remains in whether or not Lingard is keen on the move.
Newcastle United ready huge offer for Jesse Lingard.
Man United are likely to accept the approach, but the issue with Lingard has always been whether he wants to move now or wait until the summer.

Any move for the England international would make him the highest-paid player at St. James’ Park but the United academy graduate is said to not view the move favourably, with the caveat that he would prefer to see out his deal at Old Trafford and leave on a free in the summer.
It was also said that Newcastle has inquired about the availability of Dutch international midfielder Donny van de Beek. If neither player can be prized away from United this month, the likes of Chelsea’s Ross Barkley and Tottenham’s Dele Alli are also on the radar screen as potential avenues for a winter move.
Left-back comes into focus at St. James’ Park
With Kieran Trippier already in the door at Newcastle, the opposite flank in the back four has now come into focus for further transfer business apart from efforts to improve the makes and models of who is on offer in midfield.
The same 90min report cites the Magpies tracking Bayer Leverkusen left-back Mitchel Bakker, as well as former first-choice Aston Villa defender Matt Targett.
Bakker arrived at the BayArena this summer from French giants Paris Saint-Germain and though he is first-choice in his role under manager Gerardo Seoane, talks with his camp have revealed that he would be open to a move to Newcastle.
Targett may also feel the same regarding his chances of once again attaining first-choice minutes away from Villa Park after the club smartly brought in Everton’s Lucas Digne earlier this month. The deal immediately relegated Targett to a backup role behind the French international, but surely would have a strong chance of walking into the Magpies XI ahead of the likes of Jamaal Lewis, Paul Dummett, and Matt Ritchie.
