Moyes: West Ham will consider offers for Rice & Soucek

Moyes: West Ham will consider offers for Rice & Soucek

West Ham flying

West Ham United have been one of the surprise packages of the 2020/21 Premier League season.

The Hammers currently sit 7th in the English top-flight, but, should they beat Wolves on Monday, David Moyes’ men could climb as high as 4th.

Granted, securing a top-four berth come the end of the campaign may prove a step too far, especially given Liverpool’s recent return to form.

But Europa League football would still mark a huge achievement for the Londoners, who have spent much of the last few years languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

West Ham will consider offers for Rice & Soucek

A key factor in West Ham’s success of late has been their midfield.

Jesse Lingard has of course impressed since joining on loan from Manchester United in January.

But it is Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, who make up the base of the Hammers’ midfield, who have been truly integral to the club’s form this term.

Such remarkable form has seen both Rice and Soucek named as targets for top clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United.

And any potential suitors of the pair have this weekend been handed something of a boost, after David Moyes admitted that, whilst he hopes both stay put, West Ham will be forced to consider offers, if they come in:

“Yes, any club can make offers for players but we’ve not had any big offers,” he stated. “I hope we don’t get any but if we do, like any other club, we would consider them.

“I don’t know where the Bank of England is for Tomas Soucek but I’ve said with Declan, it would take the Bank of England and the Royal Bank of Scotland to get him. It will have to be the Bank of Czech as well for Tomas!”
