Mesut Ozil to Man United
For the second day running, the tabloid press in England are running stories linking Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil with Man United.
The whole saga kicked off on Friday on the back page of the Mirror.
John Cross, the Mirror’s lead Arsenal insider, claimed that Ozil will not sign a new deal to stay at Arsenal. Moreover, he claimed the German World Cup winner could move to Man United for free in the summer.
Ozil, of course, worked for Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.
Last week, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitted the Gunners could be forced to sell contract rebels Alexis Sanchez and Ozil in January.
Whilst there are suitors for Alexis Sanchez (Manchester City and PSG), there has been little interest in Ozil.
Arsenal star hits back at exit ‘campaign’
On Saturday, however, the Sun take aim at the Mirror.
The Sun dedicate a huge amount of their back page to the Ozil-Man United story. But rather than building the rumour up, the Sun try to smash it down.

Readers are lead to believe that the Man United claims have been completely fabricated:
Mesut Ozil is fuming over a ‘campaign’ to undermine him as an Arsenal player.
SunSport can reveal that World Cup-winner Ozil, 29, has NOT had talks about a new contract with Arsenal since March, has NOT told anybody at the club he wants to join Manchester United and has NOT asked for £300k a week.
A close friend of Ozil revealed: “Mesut has not had any contract offer from Arsenal.”
What the hell is going on?!
Did John Cross simply make up his original Mirror story?
What’s becoming apparent is that the Ozil situation is a complete mess.
