On the move Mateo Kovacic wanted by Arsenal & Liverpool

Mateo Kovacic & Real Madrid

Many are predicting that Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic will leave Real Madrid this summer.

Los Blancos appear to be entering a major period of transition.

After winning their third straight Champions League title, Zinedine Zidane quit his Los Blancos post.

While the enormous news this week has been Cristiano Ronaldo’s 100 million pound move from Madrid to Juventus.

Could Kovacic be the next to leave the Santiago Bernabeu?

Speaking in an interview with Marca, Kovacic has recently revealed he’s thinking about a switch:

Thank you!

I know that it’s difficult to play as a starter at Madrid, especially because I was very young when I came here.

I understand the situation, and that’s why I think it’s best if I go to another club, where I have the opportunity to play regularly as a starter.

Arsenal & Liverpool

According to social media ITK account Paris United, Arsenal and Liverpool are both in the mix for Kovacic.

Along with the two Premier League clubs, one of the Milan clubs (it’s not specified if Inter or AC) are also in the mix.

Would Kovacic get into either Liverpool or Arsenal’s XI?

Starting with the Reds, Jurgen Klopp seems to have plenty of central midfield options already.

Naby Keita and Fabinho have joined this summer. While the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson remain at Anfield.

So is Arsenal a better move for Kovacic? Perhaps, although the Gunners have also been recruiting this summer.

Lucas Torriera has joined from Sampdoria, while players like Granit Xhaka remain with the Gunners.

However Kovacic would no doubt offer more options for Unai Emery, who has seen Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.
