Manchester United willing to sell duo during January transfer window

An insight into Manchester United’s remaining January transfer plans has been provided on Monday.

Wout Weghorst has joined Manchester United after spending time on loan from Burnley at Besiktas.

The Dutchman replaced Cristiano Ronaldo, who saw his contract with the Red Devils terminated last year.

After signing Weghorst, Manchester United fans may have been hoping for one or two more players through the door this month.

However, speaking after the derby, Fabrizio Romano claimed that United are done in the market, unless Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaves and they need to sign a new right-back as cover for Diogo Dalot.

But whilst United are likely done on the incomings front, Fabrizio Romano, who was asked about Scott McTominay joining Newcastle, has revealed that Manchester United could still sell two players:

“I don’t see Manchester United selling important players, the season is still long and so they will make decisions on Pellistri, Elanga but I don’t see McTominay leaving as of now. Newcastle have many midfielders in the list, but no one is close yet,” Romano said.

As Elanga and Pellistri are both wingers, you would assume a deal for either would depend on United getting Jadon Sancho back to a first-team level.
