Manchester United have been handed a boost in their search for a new attacker this summer, with sources at Eintracht Frankfurt said to no longer view extending Randal Kolo Muaniβs stay as a realistic option, according to Christian Falk:
βEveryoneβs getting the feeling that itβs no longer realistic for Frankfurt to keep Randal Kolo Muani for one year more,β the reporter wrote.
βThe playerβs already come out and said itβs the first time he can think about a summer move β to a big club in particular. So, you see, Frankfurt is losing a lot of quality and this could be the reason why Oliver Glasner is considering leaving.
βManchester United is a big thing for Muani. They donβt have the right striker for this position; look at Wout Weghorst β heβs only scored two goals for them. They are preparing an offer for him. He knows that and if you have United in your head, itβs hard to concentrate on Frankfurt.β
Muani joined Frankfurt last summer and the striker has gone on to have a very impressive debut season in Germany.
He has scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists in 35 outings across all competitions so far this season.
That is a fairly steep fee but considering Manchester United are desperate for a striker, it is a fee they may need to pay.
Wout Weghorst is extremely goal shy and only on loan anyway, whilst Anthony Martial has proven he is not cut out to lead the line at Old Trafford.
