Manchester United eye summer move for 27-year-old Serie A midfielder

Manchester United are looking to add quality depth to their midfield ranks this summer.

The player in question is Napoli midfielder, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

A report from Napoli Calcio live claims that the Premier League side are quite serious about signing him this summer but will face competition from rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

Anguissa joined Napoli from Fulham in the summer of 2022 for €16m after a previous loan spell with the Serie A outfit.

In total, he has made 71 appearances for Napoli, scoring three and assisting nine in the process.

The 27-year-old has been especially impressive this campaign, playing a crucial role in Napoli clinching the Serie A title.

Anguissa is an explosive defensive midfielder whose pace, power and technical ability make him a solid pick up for the majority of sides.

And as Manchester United currently only have Casemiro as an out-and-out DM, it makes sense for the Red Devils to be looking to strengthen in that area.

The Brazilian is superb but he is getting on in years and has a tendency to pick up unnecessary cards, which lead to suspensions.
