Manchester United close to completing deal for potential Christian Eriksen replacement

Manchester United have lost Christian Eriksen until April/May due to injury and have made a late move to secure a replacement...

Manchester United have suffered a major blow this afternoon following the news regarding Christain Eriksen’s injury.

The Dane suffered an ankle injury against Reading and has been ruled out of action until at least late April.

The injury now leaves the Red Devils short in midfield, however, the club are making a very late move to secure a replacement.

Sabitzer close to United move

Manchester United are on the verge of signing Marcel Sabitzer, BILD in Germany are reporting.

It is understood that the Austrian did not train with Bayern Munich today.

United now looked to have swiftly moved to fill the gap left by Eriksen’s injury.

A deal has clearly been kept under wraps with the switch now seemingly imminent.

Sabitzer would be a great fit replacement for Eriksen as he plays in a very similar midfield role.

However, his game time since arriving at the Allianz has been severely limited.

He has started on just 20 occasions in all competitions since the start of last season.

But under Erik ten Hag and with Eriksen sidelined, it is likely that Sabizter would have a much more prominent role.
