Manchester City’s stance on signing both Harry Kane & Jack Grealish revealed

An update on Manchester City’s summer plans has been forthcoming on Friday morning.

Man City eyeing big moves

This summer has seen Manchester City linked with two big names in particular.

These stars have been Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Tottenham’s Harry Kane – two of England’s top talents and some of the best in their respective positions in the Premier League.

For City’s part, they are believed to have made an official bid for Kane back in June, which saw Tottenham offered a guaranteed £100m. However, that bid was knocked back by Spurs:

It was also suggested in June that City were willing to pay around £100m for Grealish:

Can Man City get Kane and Grealish?

Little has since developed on these two fronts, but The Athletic have provided an update on the situation on Friday.

The Athletic suggest that, despite reports elsewhere that City will have to decide on which of the two English internationals to buy, the Sky Blues will in fact sign both Kane and Grealish if Spurs and Aston Villa agree to let them go.

City estimate that both players would set them back somewhere between £175m and £215m

And despite the club’s wealthy owners, The Athletic add much of that sum would be balanced by sales, with City prepared to let some big names go this summer, as well as sell off some emerging academy stars.

But how close are moves for Kane and Grealish? The former seems like a much more complicated bit of business, with it explained that:

It will be a long and arduous battle to get a deal over the line and they may find that Levy simply refuses all offers, no matter how attractive they appear.

Grealish, on the other hand, seems to be a less complicated operation, amid confidence that a deal could be wrapped up swiftly. The Manchester powerhouse are also believed to have already agreed personal terms with the midfielder.
