Man United’s stance on potential Paul Pogba January sale revealed

Man United’s stance on potential Paul Pogba January sale revealed

A fresh insight into the stance of Premier League giants Manchester United when it comes to the potential departure of key man Paul Pogba has been forthcoming on Thursday evening.

Pogba’s uncertain future

The subject of Pogba’s Old Trafford future has of course come back to the fore in a major way of late.

This comes with the French midfielder’s current terms in Manchester due to come to an end in less than a year’s time.

In turn, with Pogba off the back of a start to the campaign which saw him make history with a whopping seven assists across his first four Premier League appearances, it should come as little surprise to hear that those in a position of power at the Theatre of Dreams are now pushing their midfield enigma to commit his future to the club.

An update on the situation midway through September, meanwhile, hinted at progress being made towards precisely that.

On the back of United’s Premier League downing of Newcastle, it was revealed that Pogba was ‘leaning towards’ penning a new deal with the Red Devils, having been boosted by the return of Cristiano Ronaldo:

This was followed by a further update on the situation early in October, when French outlet L’Equipe suggested that the 28-year-old is indeed prepared to pen fresh terms in Manchester, albeit only if made the Premier League’s best-paid player.

Free agent exit?

And, as outlined above, on Thursday, a fresh insight into Pogba’s situation has been provided.

The news, however, will no doubt be viewed as considerably less positive on the part of those of a United persuasion hopeful of the World Cup winner staying put.

As per a report from the reliable Jason Burt of The Telegraph, the hierarchy at Old Trafford are ‘fully prepared’ for Pogba to depart come the season’s end.

This comes with the Red Devils having absolutely no intention of sanctioning a sale upon the opening of the January transfer window. In fact, one senior source inside the club went as far as to suggest that he does ‘not see why we would consider’ proposals following the turn of the year.

In turn, with several attempts to thrash out the terms of a new deal having come up short, it is beginning to look increasingly likely that Manchester United, for the 2nd time, will soon be forced to bid farewell to Pogba without so much as a penny in return.
