The front page of Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo on Monday claims that Juventus star Paul Pogba is the subject of a secret plan being cooked up at the Camp Nou to sign the French international.
The news will come as a blow to Manchester United fans, who have been fed headlines linking the 22-year-old with a possible return to Old Trafford.
Indeed, back in January, reliable Turin based newspaper La Stampa announced that Manchester United had submitted a €80m (£61.3m) bid for Paul Pogba.
Moreover, on March 22nd the Telegraph claimed that Man United have made Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba their “top target” this summer.
So what about today’s claim in Mundo Deportivo?
According to the latest report, Barcelona are so desperate to land Pogba the Catalans are willing to do a deal with Juventus now that allows the French star to remain in Turin on a season-long loan.
Crucially, Pogba and his agent Mino Raiola want to make sure the player features in the 2016 Champions League, while Mundo Deportivo list Pogba as Xavi’s replacement at the Blaugrana.
Expect these types of headlines to run and run well into the summer…
