FC Porto right-back Danilo sees his name sprawled across a couple of newspapers in Iberia on Wednesday, as the defender’s future comes into focus.
Portuguese daily Record lead with the link that Danilo is a target for Manchester United this summer.
Pealing behind the headline, Record’s article is little more than a summary of previous transfer claims made in third party outlets, with the paper basing much of it’s knowledge on a rumour published by Spanish paper Sport.
Cutting to the chase, it’s thought that Man United would be willing to pay Danilo’s buyout clause of 50 million euros to land the right-back this summer.
Record further add that Man United scouts are now a permanent fixture at Porto games as the defender is under constant observation from Old Trafford.
Spanish paper Marca, however, believe that 23-year-old Danilo is heading to Real Madrid.
Marca’s splash reveals that Danilo has given the green light to start talks with Real about his transfer, and the paper suggest that Madrid may allow the Brazilian to stay at Porto for another 16 months before he finally makes the move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Marca add that Real’s intentions behind allowing Danilo to remain at Porto is to negotiate down the player’s transfer fee to around 20 to 25 million euros.
