Man United still working on ‘up to three more signings’ before transfer window closes

Despite having endured a fairly quiet summer to date, a report in the English media on Monday has claimed that Manchester United still have a number of transfer targets in mind ahead of next season.

Man United’s quiet window

Manchester United finished 33 points adrift of Premier League champions Liverpool last season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, meanwhile, was fairly reluctant to make use of players outside of his main starting XI on a consistent basis, which eventually led to a number of key members of his squad looking majorly fatigued over the campaign’s run-in.

As a result, this summer is viewed as one in which United need to add some depth to Solskjaer’s squad, to back up a strong first-choice XI.

To this point, though, the Red Devils have made just one signing, in the form of Donny van de Beek, who arrived from Ajax last week.

Man United could sign three more players

Such little activity, especially when the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City have been pretty active, has no doubt proven a major source of concern for the United faithful.

However, as mentioned above, a report from the Manchester Evening News on Monday has provided hope for Red Devils fans, as we enter the final month of the transfer window.

As per the MEN:

Manchester United are still working on up to three more signings before the transfer window closes in four weeks.

In terms of the identity of the potential incomings, Borussia Dortmund standout Jadon Sancho is understood to remain United’s priority target.

However, the Reds are also reportedly open to signing a left-back, a centre-back and a centre forward.

Vitaliy Mykolenko and Sergio Reguilon are the left-backs believed to be of interest to the Manchester powerhouse.

As we have previously covered, meanwhile, United are also thought to be interested in the signing of RB Leipzig centre-back, Dayot Upamecano.
