Daily Express with another big rumour
Liverpool fans are likely to be angry when they read a report in the Daily Express on Tuesday suggesting that RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita could end up going to Man United.
Keita is known to be a target for Liverpool, however the Reds have so far be stonewalled when it comes to trying to sign the 22-year-old African star.
Amid talks that Keita commands a transfer fee of 70 to 80 million pounds, Liverpool have seen bids for the Guinean icon rebuffed by the Bundesliga side this summer.
Man United v Liverpool
But could Man United swoop in, much in the same way as the Red Devils behave when it came to signing Romelu Lukaku ahead of Chelsea? The tabloid report:
Manchester United have emerged as shock suitors for Naby Keita, but how could Jose Mourinho’s side look if they land the midfielder?
According to Football Whispers, Manchester United are considering a move for the midfielder.
Is this pure BS?
However it’s easy to understand why Man United fans could buy into the Keita rumours.
Man United have been struggling in the transfer market when it’s come to recruiting a new centre-mid, and the midfield market is shrinking fast.
Tiemoue Bakayoko has joined Chelsea, Tottenham appear determined to hold onto Eric Dier, Chelsea seem to be baulking at a deal for Nemanja Matic, while links to players like Julian Weigl feel weak.
Against all that Naby Keita could be an excellent addition for United.
It’s worth noting that RB Leipzig have continuously stated that Keita is not for sale this summer.
