Whilst Manchester United continue to be linked with the likes of Thomas Muller and Neymar, they are clearly also scouting for youngsters who emerge on the global scene.
One such player is Rafik Zekhnini – a 17-year-old left winger for Norwegian side Odd who played so well against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night, that he caused Mats Hummels to swear on television.
Zekhnini has played around 200 minutes in the Odd first team but was so good against Dortmund that links with big clubs should come as no surprise.
The 17-year-old was a key factor in Odd going into a 3-0 lead after 22 minutes before the Bundesliga giants won the Europa League play-off first leg 4-3.
On Saturday night, Norwegian local paper TA report that Manchester United have bid three million euros for Zekhnini.
Yesterday, Zekhnini told TA: “My dream is to play for Manchester United. It has always been my favourite club. But you never know if there will be an offer.”
TA contacted the Odd general manager and first team coach but did not receive a reply on Manchester United’s offer.
