Man United can stop Leicester City landing their Riyad Mahrez replacement

Leicester City after Riyad Mahrez

Former Premier League champions Leicester City will kick off the new Premier League season on August 9.

Next Friday night the Foxes will take on Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Leicester’s XI could be rather unfamiliar in their opener. Riyad Mahrez is of course no longer at the club after the Algerian was sold to Man City for 60 million pounds.

Clause Puel has also indicated that England international Harry Maguire and Jamie Vardy will also be missing next weekend.

Man United & Adnan Januzaj

The big news out of Belgium on Thursday morning is that Leicester are keen on signing Adnan Januzaj.

Januzaj will be viewed by many as a possible successor to Mahrez in the Leicester XI.

Januzaj scored a stunning goal for Belgium at the World Cup in the group phase win over England.

Twelve months ago, Januzaj joined Real Sociedad from ManUnited on a five-year contract in a deal believed to be worth around £9m.

The winger made 23 appearances for Sociedad last term. He scored four goals and chipped in with six assists.

According to the latest reports, Leicester are keen on signing Januzaj from Spain.

There’s one catch for the Foxes however, as Man United retain a buy-back option on Januzaj.

Would Jose Mourinho exercise that option?
