Man United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Alex Telles

Manchester United appear to have taken a big step forward in their pursuit of Alex Telles over the last 24 hours.

Porto standout

Telles has now spent just over four years plying his trade with FC Porto.

The left-back joined the Portuguese powerhouse in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be just shy of £6m.

And he has since gone on to firmly establish himself as one of the Premeira Liga’s top defenders.

All told, Telles has notched 194 appearances across all competitions for Porto, in which he has provided 56 assists and scored 26 goals.

Man United agree terms with Telles

With such impressive numbers to his name, it has actually come as something of a surprise that the full-back has not been snapped up by a club in one of Europe’s top-five leagues yet.

However, with the 27-year-old now in the final year of his contract, interest in his signature has begun to mount.

European powerhouses PSG and Chelsea have previously been linked with Telles.

However, in recent weeks, another suitor appears to have taken the lead in the race for Telles.

This outfit comes in the form of Manchester United, who are believed to have intensified their pursuit of Telles earlier this month.

And now, as mentioned above, the Red Devils have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Telles.

As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Man United and Telles have found an agreement on personal terms.

United are still said to be in talks with Porto over a transfer fee, but things appear to be moving in the right direction for Ole Gunner Solskjaer and co.
