Man United fans are getting excited about a Sancho/Varane double deal following Reds star’s social media hint

Man United fans are getting excited about a Sancho/Varane double deal following Reds star’s social media hint

Manchester United’s supporters have taken to social media in numbers this evening, amid speculation surrounding the possibility of two of Europe’s biggest names making the move to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Reds on the up

United’s campaign, to date, has of course proven something of a mixed bag.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men currently sit in a solid 2nd place in the Premier League table, having only seen their title challenge slip away due to the stunning form of rivals Manchester City.

The Red Devils also look primed for a deep Europa League run, having made impressively short work of Real Sociedad over the last couple of weeks, and remain in with a solid shot of clinching the FA Cup.

With such highs, however, have come some equally considerable lows.

The most obvious comes in the form of United’s Champions League group stage exit, on the back of 3 losses across their final 4 outings on Europe’s biggest stage.

The Manchester powerhouse have also been condemned to a number of concerning defeats on the domestic front, including at the hands of Premier League basement dwellers Sheffield United, and Tottenham, back in October (6-1).

Sancho & Varane incoming?

As such, whilst progress, overall, has been made at Old Trafford in 2020/21, it is evident that Solskjaer’s men remain, as things stand, some way from the finished product.

If the Reds truly hope to kick on towards a concerted title push next time around, reinforcements will therefore be required this summer.

And, on Tuesday, the United faithful have let their imaginations run wild, amid links to two of Europe’s most high-profile stars.

The first comes in the form of Jadon Sancho.

United have of course been tipped as a potential landing spot for English international Sancho for several years now, but, to date, a deal is yet to come to fruition.

The latest social media activity on the part of one of the club’s stars, however, has seen excitement surrounding the possibility of a Manchester return for the Borussia Dortmund attacker ramp back up.

This comes after Paul Pogba took to Twitter, to unveil a Pepsi advertising campaign, with the Frenchman accompanied in the advert by none other than Sancho.

Above all, though, it was Pogba’s caption which has since sent tongues wagging, with the United midfielder having opted for:

‘Finally on the same team’

The tantalising news, however, has not ended there for the Red Devils faithful.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, just 24 hours after it was suggested that Pogba is open to the possibility of putting pen to paper on a new contract, United have been tipped to land the midfielder’s international teammate, Raphael Varane.

As per a report from the Manchester Evening News, ‘Real Madrid are prepared to sell Raphael Varane to Manchester United this summer’.

Los Blancos are said to be ready to cash in on their long-time defensive stalwart, amid concerns that Varane is eyeing up a future away from the Bernabeu.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co., in turn, view the World Cup winner as the ideal partner for Harry Maguire, with a deal being struck ahead of next season seemingly a genuine possibility.

And, as outlined above, such speculation, on top of fresh rumours surrounding Sancho’s potential arrival and Pogba staying put, have since given rise to quite a scene across social media, with some of the best Tweets showcased below:
