Man United eye up a £15m West Ham target to replace Luke Shaw [Sun]

Manchester United return to action today as they visit Southampton in the Premier League, and the occasion is sure to focus attentions on Luke Shaw.

Shaw, who moved to Old Trafford from St Mary’s back in 2014 in a £27m deal, saw his 2015-16 season come to an end last week during the Red Devils’ first match in the Champions League group phase this season.

Shaw suffered a horrific leg break in United’s 2-1 loss at PSV.

United are likely to plug the hole left by Shaw by either deploying Marcos Rojo or Daley Blind at left-back. However neither option is ideal.

In that regard, the Sun on Sunday claim United are considering a £15m bid for West Ham’s left-back Aaron Cresswell this January. One would suspect that if United actually tabled a bid, the Hammers would sell their 25-year-old defender.

Interestingly, Man United were linked with Leeds left-back Charlie Taylor last week.

As for the Hammers, they are on cloud nine this weekend following their 2-1 away win at Man City.
