Man United & Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic
According to Spanish daily Marca, Manchester United have lodged a bid for Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic.
Marca claim that Man United have tabled a 60 million euro offer for Kovacic.
Since his move to the Bernabeu from Inter Milan in the summer of 2015, Croatian international Kovacic has endured an up-and-down spell with Los Blancos
Kovacic, 24, has failed to lock down a starting spot in the Madrid XI. To be fair, however, he’s had Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro in front of him in the pecking order.

Does Kovacic prefer a move to Chelsea?
Returning to Man United’s offer, Marca also report that Kovacic isn’t keen on a move to Old Trafford.
Why? Because the Croatian international doesn’t believe his style fits in with how Man United play the game.
If that’s true, it seems that Kovacic is refusing to join Man United because of Jose Mourinho’s tactics.
At the same time, Chelsea have also been rumoured to be chasing Kovacic.
On Tuesday the Daily Mail announced that Chelsea have contracted Real Madrid to discuss a possible deal.
Maurizio Sarri is said to be continuing his search for another midfielder, following Jorginho’s arrival from Napoli.
Kovacic & World Cup
Kovacic raised his profile over the summer as Croatia reached the 2018 World Cup final.
Croatia were beaten 4-2 in the final by France.
Kovacic played five matches at the World Cup. He clocked up 183 minutes during the competition. While Kovacic failed to find the target in the World Cup, he did register one assist.
