Man City v Man United
Over the past 24 hours, there’s been plenty of chatter surrounding Breel Embolo.
German news outlet Kicker announced overnight that Schalke are challenging Manchester United in the race for the 19-year-old Swiss striker.
Now Swiss paper Blick have released a new article title ‘The truth about the Embolo transfer’, which suggests that Manchester City could be central to Man United missing out of the attacker.
Leroy Sane is a key cog
According to Blick, the future of German international forward Leoy Sane is central to the Embolo situation.
Sane, who plays for Schalke, has been linked with a move to Man City this off-season.
The 20-year-old is an incredibly exciting talent who scored nine goals and chalked up seven assists in 42 appearances for the Royal Blues last term.
Pep Guardiola has been linked with a 50 million euro swoop for Sane, and Blick believe that deal needs to go through for Schalke to complete the Embolo purchase.
Blick confidently report:
Man City will pay 50 million euros (for Sane), Embolo will be the replacement for the super-fast winger.
According to Blick, Man City will thus screw over their Manchester rivals, with Schalke now looking most likely to land Embolo.
