Man City expected to raise over £70m from fringe player sales this summer

Man City expected to raise over £70m from fringe player sales this summer

Man City’s summer transfer targets

The summer transfer window has technically been open less than a day, but we have already seen a whole host of news emerging over transfer dealings.

Manchester City, for their part, appear to be eyeing a fairly expensive summer window.

With Sergio Aguero gone, it would make sense for the Sky Blues to be in the market for a new centre-forward.

And it appears that the Manchester powerhouse have set their sights on exactly that, with it reported that Harry Kane is City’s preferred choice to replace Aguero.

It is not just Kane, though, whom the Sky Blues are eyeing, according to ESPN:

Man City planning to sell off fringe stars

No fee for Grealish is mentioned in ESPN’s report, but Aston Villa are expected to demand a fairly hefty sum for their star man.

Kane, meanwhile, looks likely to set any potential suitor back well north of £100m.

So, if City do intend to target both players, they will need to sell first.

And the Daily Mail are now reporting that the Citizens are expected to raise over £70m from the sales of fringe stars this summer.

Leeds United are believed to be ready to trigger a £13m option for Jack Harrison.

Elsewhere, Porto are said to be interested in making a permanent move for Pedro Porro – with the full-back valued at £15m – whilst Sporting have been credited with an interest in striker Lukas Nmecha.

Yangel Herrera, Ivan Ilic and Morgan Rogers are also tipped to be moved on this summer:
