Melbourne City & Daniel Arzani
Rumours have been flying around for several weeks that Melbourne City’s Daniel Arzani could be about to move to Celtic.
Following the retirement of Tim Cahill from the Australian soccer team, Arzani is being tipped to be the next big Aussie star.
The 19-year-old winger starred in the second half of the A-League season. He scored two league goals and chipped in with three assists.
Arzani also made a couple of thrilling cameo appearances at the 2018 World Cup in Russia as his reputation went global.
Man City & Celtic
Melbourne City are part-owned by Premier League champions Man City.
That means Man City are involved in all transfer dealings for the A-League club.
Celtic have held talks with Man City over Arzani, and the teenager could be about to sign two new deals before the summer transfer window closes.
It’s believed that Man City may lock up a deal for Arzani, before the Sky Blues agree to loan the midfielder to Celtic. The Arzani deals are explained on Goal.com:
Manchester City is expected to seal a $500,000 transfer this weekend for Arzani, who is following in similar footsteps to fellow Australian Aaron Mooy.
Like Mooy, Arzani will likely be loaned out straight away with Celtic looming as his likely destination.
Celtic already have Australian international Tom Rogic on their books. One would assume he’d help Arzani bed in at Celtic.
Rather than joining Celtic for just 2018-19, rumours are also doing the rounds that Arzani could sign a 2-year loan deal with the Bhoys.
