Lyon agree terms with Memphis Depay, still negotiating with Man United [L’Equipe]

Lyon want Memphis Depay

Memphis Depay seems almost certain to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window and Ligue 1 side Lyon are undoubtedly the most keen.

On Wednesday, L’Equipe report that Lyon and Depay have come to an agreement on personal terms.

However, discussions between Lyon and Manchester United “remain very complicated”, according to the reliable French newspaper.

Lyon have made three offers for Depay

So far, Lyon have made three offers to Manchester United for Depay. The first was for 12 million euros, the second for 15 million euros. Both were rejected.

Lyon’s latest offer for Depay was transmitted on Tuesday, for 17 million euros and this was also rejected.

L’Equipe also detail four players Lyon could move for if they fail to sign Depay: Nicolas Pépé (Angers), Leon Bailey (Genk), Adnan Januzaj (loaned from Manchester United to Sunderland) and Jonathan Cafu (Ludogorets).

Manchester United are improving in how much money they receive for players and this looks to be continuing with their hardball stance on Memphis Depay.

The Dutch winger arrived at Old Trafford to plenty of fanfare thanks to a stunning season at PSV but he struggled under Louis van Gaal and has failed to make an impact on Jose Mourinho’s side in 2016/2017.
