Liverpool transfer news: Forward to leave, centre-back future up in air & more

Here is all the latest Liverpool transfer news.

First up, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino to replace Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku hasn’t been able to replicate the sort of form that made him one of the most lethal strikers during his first spell for the Nerazzurri.

Firmino’s contract with the Reds expires at the end of the season, and although both the player and manager Jurgen Klopp has reiterated their desire for the Brazilian to continue at Anfield, an agreement over a renewal is yet to be reached.

Next, Jurgen Klopp has responded to rumours that centre-back Nat Phillips could leave the club in the current transfer window:

“Nat Phillips to leave? It depends on the offers. We’re prepared for everything. We’ll see,” the German tactician stated.

Elsewhere, according to the reports in the Telegraph, Chelsea are ready to compete with Liverpool to sign Portuguese international Matheus Nunes.

Finally, the Daily Mail claim Brighton are pondering a move for Liverpool winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this winter to replace the recently departed Leandro Trossard.
