Liverpool, Newcastle & Middlesbrough
How will Jurgen Klopp line up Liverpool’s midfield in 2017-18?
This seems like a tricky question to answer right now, as the Reds are stocked with talent across the middle of the pitch.
Beginning on the wings, the Reds have already signed Mohamed Salah from Roma in a club record deal, while Sadio Mane will likely operate down the other flank.
In the middle, captain Jordan Henderson will have a fight to retain a starting berth as Emre Can, Gini Wijnaldum, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana battle to be in Klopp’s XI.
Where does that leave players like Lucas Leiva and Marko Grujic?
As for Sheyi Ojo, he seems poised to leave Anfield before the season starts, as the youngster is being tracked by both Newcastle and Middlesbrough.
What’s the story?
20-year-old Oyo is under contract with Liverpool until 2020.
Last season he only made two appearances for the senior side as he struggled with a back injury, however he’s already starred with England U20 as they won the World Cup in South Korea this summer.
Middlesbrough will rival Newcastle United in an attempt to recruit Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo on loan. Rafa Benítez, the Newcastle manager, is keen to recruit the winger — who was a member of England’s Under-20 World Cup-winning squad — as he prepares for life back in the Premier League.
However, Garry Monk, the new Middlesbrough manager, also wants Ojo as he looks to guide the club back into the top flight at the first attempt, and would be able to offer the prospect of more regular first-team football.
