An update on Liverpoolâs plans for Ozan Kabak has emerged online this weekend.
Kabakâs Liverpool stint
Liverpool of course signed Ozan Kabak on loan from Schalke during the winter window.
The Reds have had a nightmare campaign when it comes to injuries, with all of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip sidelined with long-term issues.
Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, in turn, were forced to drop deep to help with the Redsâ centre-back woes. However, both have endured injury problems of their own, with Henderson still out of action at present.
So, it wasnât too much of a shock to see both Kabak and Ben Davies brought to Anfield earlier this year.
Davies has not really featured since his arrival on Merseyside. But Kabak has been one of Jurgen Kloppâs most consistent starters of late.
Granted, it has been far from plain sailing. But the Turkish international has now formed a fairly decent partnership with Nat Phillips.
And, in his last two league starts before Saturday, Kabak played a key role in Liverpool keeping clean sheets vs both Wolves and Arsenal.
Liverpool looking to sign Kabak permanently
In turn, as outlined above, an update on Kabakâs future in England has this weekend been forthcoming online.
When the 21-year-old joined Liverpool, it was reported that the Reds secured an option to buy for an initial fee of £18m, with the potential to rise to £26.5m.
And now, according to 90min, the Premier League champions are ready to trigger this option, after being impressed with Kabak’s development of late.
The report goes on to claim that, alongside Kabak, Liverpool are on the lookout for a second centre-back to bolster their defence next season.
